Haida, once a famous private detective, is now down and out and running out of reasons to live. One day, while engaging in a group volunteer project to clean up a river, he loses what's left of his will to live and lets the water carry him away. He ends up rescuing a drowning man who alters his view of life totally. Soon he gets a job investigating the mysterious disappearance of a student who sent her mother a cryptic letter, "Wait a bit, Mother. I'm sending my breath. It will arrive soon."

With karma as the central theme, this intriguing movie is made up of three amazing stories. The second tale depicts the surprising out come of the murder of a shop owner whose wife has an affair with his servant. In the third story, a doll fairy punishes a man for sexually abusing his wife by burying itself together with the man in a fire.

One of Yeh Hong's lovers, Kim, who is an assassin, also develops a relationship with Mu-Lin. He and Yeh Hong may be working with the emperor's eunuch; all are power hungry. Things seem more than coincidental: does Mu-Lin have a history with this trio? If so, what is it?
Ni Shujun, born on November 8, 1967 in Hsinchu County, Taiwan Province, China, is a Taiwanese film and television actor. In 1982, Ni Shujun starred in her first film, Who is the Unemployment Traveller, thus entering the entertainment industry. In 1983, she became famous for the role of "Zhang Xiaoyu" in the fantasy love movie "Ying and Yang Wrong".
