Vetri Vinayagar is 1996 Tamil Hindu devotional film directed by K. Shankar[1][2] and produced by M. Sarojini Devi. The film script was written by K. P. Arivanantham. Its music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. The film stars K. R. Vijaya, Radha Ravi, Urvasi, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Delhi Ganesh.[3] The film was dubbed in Hindi as Jai Ganesh Deva and Telugu as Om Ganapathi.
Manju is an outspoken woman. She lives with her father, who tries to socially reform people. Belonging to a middle class family, she cannot provide a dowry for potential grooms. One day, Manju comes across an innovative advertisement where a groom is looking for a bride without any dowry. His family shocks Manju's father, but she is determined to make a life with them. Sirusu (Jayaram) and his elder brother Perusu (Goundamani) are the trouble makers of the village who own a cinema theatre and they are bachelors. Veluchami, an orphan, is raised by Periya Ayya along with his own daughter. When Periya decides to give away his daughter to the local temple, Veluchami marries her by force to save her.

Solaiyamma is a mother-less woman who is looked after by her father. She has been promised in marriage with her relative Balraj and they are in love. Vairavan is a heartless muscular man who spreads terror among the villagers and rapes the village girls. One night, Vairavan enters Solaiyamma's house and tries to rape Solaiyamma but she stands against him and Vairavan runs away. The entire village thinks that she has been raped including her relatives and then her father commits suicide. Thereafter, she is rejected by the village. Vairavan tortures her psychologically to spend a night with him. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
Jai Ganesh (Tamil: ஜெய்கணேஷ்) was an Engineer who mostly acted in supporting roles and was perhaps best known for his role in films like Aval Oru Thodar Kathai and Attukara Alamelu. His most popular roles have been as a supporting actor or even as a villain in films like Thaayillamal Naanillai, Athisaya Piravi and few more. He was born in 1946.
