Chang, a 16-year-old, Asian American, bets the high school basketball star that he can dunk by Homecoming. The bet leads 5' 8" Chang on a quest to learn to dunk—not only to impress his crush, Kristy, but to gain the respect of his high school peers too. But before he can rise up and truly throw one down, he'll have to reexamine everything he knows about himself, his friendships and his family.
The Show Must Go On, a new documentary about efforts to bring the world tour of The Phantom of the Opera and the South Korean tour of Cats to their respective opening nights in the wake of COVID-19, is now in post-production. Shot in South Korea, the United States and the United Kingdom, the film features Andrew Lloyd Webber as well as the touring companies. The doc is directed by Emmy winner and Broadway producer Dori Berinstein and her daughter Sammi Cannold, who helmed Lloyd Webber's Evita at City Center in 2019.
Broadway's Eric Anthony Lopez is a American actor of Puerto Rican descent who is making his feature film debut as Syd in the 2023 Disney live-action CHANG CAN DUNK, produced by Emmy Award Winner Lena Waithe. In 2022, Lopez had his television breakout on I CAN SEE (Fox/Hulu) & that same year made his Broadway debut as Passarino with The Longest Running Broadway Production in History-THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by TONY Award Director/Producer Harold Prince.
