Chop Cut Rebuild was an automotive television series seen on Speed Channel from 2004 - 2013. Hosted by Canadian actor, Dan Woods, previously known for his role as Principal Daniel Raditch in the first four seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation. On March 5, 2013, Fox Sports announced that it would relaunch Speed Channel as Fox Sports 1 on August 17, 2013, with significant changes in programming but retaining NASCAR coverage. On June 21st, 2013, Fox Sports 1 announced that a number of series that aired on Speed Channel would not be part of the new Fox Sports 1 line up, Chop Cut Rebuild will not be part of the new network. Starting April 8th 2014, Chop Cut Rebuild will air on MAVTV.

Degrassi Junior High

Degrassi Junior High is a Canadian CBC Television teen drama series that was produced from 1987-1989 as part of the Degrassi series. The show followed the lives of a group of students attending the titular fictional school. Many episodes tackled difficult topics such as drug use, child abuse, teenage pregnancy, homosexuality, homophobia, racism, and divorce, and the series was acclaimed for its sensitive and realistic portrayal of the challenges of teenage life. The cast comprised mainly non-professional actors, which added to the show's sense of realism. The series featured many of the same actors who had starred on The Kids of Degrassi Street a few years earlier, including Stacie Mistysyn, Neil Hope, Anais Granofsky, Sarah Charlesworth and others. However, their character names and family situations had been changed, so Degrassi Junior High cannot, therefore, be considered a direct spinoff. The legal counsel for all the episodes was Stephen Stohn who later became the executive producer of Degrassi: The Next Generation. The series was filmed at the unused Vincent Massey Public School in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Biography

Dan Woods, best known as Mr. Raditch from "Degrassi," delved into automotive-themed TV shows, starting with "Classic Car Restorations" for Speedvision Network in 1999. He later created programs like "Street Tuner Challenge," "First Crush," and the Emmy-nominated "Chop Cut Rebuild," where he served as Host and Executive Producer. Woods studied theater at Humber College and comedy at Second City alongside notable talents like Kevin McDonald, Dave Foley, Don Lake, and Mike Myers. Simultaneously, he worked as a DJ on Toronto radio stations while playing the no-nonsense English teacher on "Degrassi."
